556 - Route 556

I've had my kicks on the A556
That link between the two great motorways
The M56 and mighty M6
It links them like spiders' webs in the haze.
Some days the 556 has no delays
And some days those few miles take far too long
But when you're in a jam you can still praise
The lovely Cheshire countryside with song.
The Swan pub, the big houses, and the strong
Desire to drive faster than fifty; quick's
Macho but you'll be flashed, so fix your gaze
On those two yellow speed cameras. It's wrong
To lose your head and pick up points. The trick's
To speed up when you're on the motorways.
