As the Olympic flame is lit in Greece
By concentrating the rays of the sun
We also focus our sights on world peace
And lack of human rights for Chinamen
Not forgetting the poor Tibetans. When
China sent in the troops in '59
The Dalai Lama escaped, on the run
From his homeland of cold wind and sunshine.
But while we criticise and undermine
The Chinese, other large states rarely cease
To keep tight control; centralisation
And uniformity seem to combine:
Large territories and numbers need police,
And sometimes terrorise the civilian.
