607 - Time is tight, when you want to write

My mother’s down in Wales with my sister,
Taking some time out after Geoff’s demise.
I sent her a cheerful bunch of flowers,
And I know that was a pleasant surprise.
Meanwhile, I’m going to see just what lies
On her hall floor, courtesy of the post,
And see what I can deal with as she tries
To rediscover happiness she lost.
I must crack on, or find out to my cost
That when you’re only a part-time writer
You must write when you’ve time, cos that time flies,
And I’m seeing Tania and Josie most
Of the evening, and then staying over,
So I must go. Cheerio, ol’ red eyes!
