10 - Inertia, enemy of all success

Inertia, enemy of all success,
Slows down my blood and turns on my TV.
There’s nothing good can come from laziness,
Or cigarettes or pills, wine or whiskey.
Can’t buy a thrill, or love: I’ve got to earn
It all. But first, where does my talent lie?
All marketing immediately I spurn.
All networking just makes me want to die.
It’s not me but my work I hope you’ll like.
And what is friendship but a business deal -
Like all deals, needing a big mouth to strike?
The biggest mouth will eat the biggest meal.
My lips don’t move, save when I read the rules
Of apes and grooming, taught in homes and schools.
