13 - I think therefore I am, implies no God

“I think, therefore I am” implies no God.
If we think by ourselves, all uncontrolled,
And guide ourselves, not doing what we’re told,
We’re independent. Does that make us glad?
If selfish and immoral, maybe so;
If strong and able to get what we want.
The rest of us need someone permanent
To steer and help us, once our fathers go.
We can’t stop thinking things are getting worse.
We cannot stop the oceans’ steady rise,
Reflected in our overflowing eyes,
As, one last time, we see the universe.
We all need help, but can we help ourselves?
And will I ever learn to put up shelves?
