156 - This mid-afternoon hunger gnaws away

This mid-afternoon hunger gnaws away,
Its rumbling like some dire warning of quakes.
“But hunger is your friend,” I try to say;
“Remember what the gain of weight loss takes!”
Oh lack of snacks! No packs of tacos, cakes,
Even your beer is rationed here - smashing
It ain’t. Imagine diving into lakes
Of booze or melted chocolate, the fashion
For skinniness spat out with a passion!
Return to Rubenesque: fat wins the day.
No puritanic, tyrannic voice makes
Us hide from the poolside. Instead, splashing
Head first into the full pool, showering spray
So shockingly, like when a wet dog shakes.
