A quiet day at home, feeling jaded,
Tidying the dust and poetry files.
Cleaned surfaces and window sills, made it
A bit better; such shining bathroom tiles!
Derby were beaten by Plymouth Argyle.
The fifth round of the Cup saw surprise draws
But no real surprise exits. I think I’ll
Have made a slight profit, only because
I won most of my big ones. The house claws
Back too high a proportion. So faded
My hopes of a bonanza, cash in piles
With no work done, a cottage on the moors
Near to the sea, far from the invaded
Privacy here. To build Rome takes a while.
