200 - It's Friday lunchtime: the week's nearly done

It’s Friday lunchtime: the week’s nearly done.
To celebrate, I’m penning poetry,
Speeding the clock from half-past twelve to one -
And yes, I am using a pen, really!
Or was. Now the ink’s virtual only,
The paper’s in the bin, and there’s no book
Of draft sonnets, redrafted messily
To scrutinise. No-one will ever look
At crossings-out or doodles and think ‘Shucks,
I’d never have guessed. Manuscripts are fun!’
The finished, pristine product’s all they’ll see.
And what if, God forbid, my PC’s struck
By virus, took by thief? Then gone, all gone:
My poems, pictures, life! Always keep hard copy!
