I’m pissed: in other words, I’m very drunk.
I can’t think straight, I can’t walk straight. I missed
When I tried to put my key in my lock. Sunk
In several pints of Guinness. Brahms and Liszt.
I was out of my head last night on dope,
And watched a film - Blown Away - then got bored.
I tried to read a novel in the hope
That I could spend time usefully. Good Lord!
I got a bad back sleeping in their bed.
I waited all morning for doctor’s word
To say I could go home. When it was said,
I joined my work colleagues for Christmas bird.
The turkey was good; the pudding tempting.
I ate too much. And then came the drinking…
