A landline phone, a left and right speaker
A headphone set, video cassette, a mess
Of cords and cables enough to impress
Spaghetti-lovers here and everywhere
A list of competitions to enter
That my half-hearted stuff won’t win unless
I write it better, show them that I care
And can create, and am, a character
