I think I’ll write a book on losing weight.
It won’t be long. It only needs one page,
Or even just one sentence. Two words. Wait,
Here comes my revelatory message:
“Eat less!” That’s all, folks! Brevity, the gauge
Of quality. These horrid, hurried days,
Why worry about ‘War and Peace?’ Outrage,
But very short soundbites are now what pays.
Wise publishers, take note! I will amaze:
Ten readings a night; still I won’t be late
For bed or interviews. The advantage
Is clear. Now hear my few demands. A blaze
Of well-placed advertising; candidate
For Nobel Prize; and… lots of food backstage.
