I just found out - it’s Friday the thirteenth!
How scary… but how silly to think so!
Bad luck can happen any time, you know,
And yet, I lost for what seems the umpteenth
Occasion today, on the stock exchange.
A fool’s game, maybe. But some people win
The lottery twice. You’ve got to be in
It to win it. Just one minute can change
Everything. No, we don’t make our own luck.
It’s parcelled out by half-drunk gods above,
Who find it funny to give all the love
To some, but not enough to me. Well f***
Them! They say that eternal life’s a drag
Anyway, but this mortal life’s the funniest gag!
