I’ve put some new songs on my MP3!
Well, old songs, but they’re newly installed there.
It’s fun, like when I bought some new LP
Back in the seventies. Can’t wait to hear!
I was about to list some names, but no -
That would be boring, like the stranger who
Talks on and on while sitting next to you
In the pub, about something you don’t know
Or care. Beware! We must find common ground,
Not stand upon our soapbox and lecture.
Another’s ears grow tired of our sound,
And brevity is wit. Get the picture?
Meanwhile, I’ll walk to work with new old sounds
That shake my waking mind both up and down.
