The best way to achieve equality
Is to stop buying things that we don’t need.
Then we would save so much, so easily,
While watching corporate profit margins bleed.
But I don’t think we want that in our hearts;
We’d rather everyone shared in the spoils
Than lose our cars, our flights to foreign parts.
But there’s not enough water, enough soil,
To promise all of us a rose garden.
For that, they say we’d need two more planets.
Fine! Life on Mars might prove quite a hard one,
But land is cheap and plentiful. Can it
Fail? Send boys to Mars and girls to Venus.
There’s already so much space between us.
